EPL Week 4
Will Normal Order be Restored
Last Year 2014-15 week 4 threw up some interesting results Arsenal drew to Man City. Chelsea punished Swansea 4-2 Spurs Stuttered 2-2 against Sunderland and Liverpool were beaten at home by Aston Villa 0-1
So will normal order be restored after some freak results this week
Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea Humbled
EPL week 4
What a weekend. Surely we cannot be surprised at the results Chelsea Losing to Crystal Palace Man Utd defeated by Swansea and Liverpool overrun by West Ham
The Chelsea result although a surprise I would not regard it as a shock. Only once this season have they really clicked and that was week 3 when they beat WBA but even then frailties have been exposed at that back losing 2 preventable goals. Against Man City they were woeful, against Swansea they were not convincing. They have now made the 2nd worst start to the defence of the title, Only surpassed by Jack Walkers Blackburn and where are they now.
Has Mourinho lost his special touch, and will they just buy their way out of the situation? by splashing out £120m on Pogba and Stones. JT I fear is a spent force. Ivanovic looks woeful despite being elevated to the captain. Even Jose admits he should have been substituted.
The Swansea Man Utd game exposed Van Gaal “Fantastic” team as not really after being taken apart By Swansea there again no shock as they already have 3 wins against them since being promoted to the premiership 2010-11 despite Man U having the lions share of the game overall possession by 65% against 35% out passed Swansea by 540 to 251
Van Gaal conceded that there was a 5 minute spell when the home team changed their shape. Well Louis you are the Coach with a enviable track record also to date you have spent £83m on new recruits Swansea a mere £9.1m. Which prompted Big Sam Allardyce commentating on http://www.premierleague.com/ That there was a small difference between spending big and free transfers. Now Sam you are a voice to be listened to, but on this occasion you are of way off the mark. If that was the case a studious coach would never spend big and win the division every year. It is a fact the more you spend the more success you will have. Even Trophy shy Arsene Wenger has finally conceded and spent £95m season 2014-15
The no shock comes from the fact Pardew has the sign over the special one. As no other manager has more wins against him in any other league.
The other side of the coin is big Spending Spurs who have spent £246m in 5 years have yet again misfired against Everton, with the Great English hope Harry Kane still failing to find the net in 4 games But dare I say. He looks like a good 1 season player.
Spurs showed a bit more attacking spirit and Tim Howard proving to be the man of the match
Brendan Rogers having spent £292m during his tenure witnessed his side being Humbled by West Ham. He must be among one of the early front runners for the sack. He has endured a somewhat difficult relationship with the fans, and there have been constant calls for his head. This last display has not endeared him to the faithful and surely he must be hanging on to his position by a thread. During the game they out-passed West Ham 460-236 and Possession 63.1%-36.9% But 35 of those passes were from Milner to Gomez that Stat in itself shows there was little attacking ingenuity in there play
Meanwhile Man City Brushed aside Watford with an awesome display. David Silva will get the plaudits he deserves as he is a stylish player. Kolarov who is an unsung hero at the Etihad returned some interesting figures being involved in 88 passing combinations David Silva 66
The Combination that will be awesome, providing they keep fit is Sterling Silver it just trips of the tongue
